De Bruin Techniek Groep specialises in drive technology: technology for moving and controlling machinery and equipment. The company stocks many standard products, which it can quickly deliver to its customers. However, the organisation is particularly strong in the longtail: selling a large number of niche products.

Niels van Doorne - Supply Chain Manager - explains: "It is important to organise everything as well as possible for the entire chain, from supplier to customer. Transport is an important part of this. Every day some 300 to 350 parcels are ready for the GLS driver in Tilburg to load and ship to our customers via the depot. We also send pallets of freight via GLS Freight."

"Previously, there were two collection moments: one for our Freight shipments and one for Parcels. Now they collect both parcels and pallets in one go with a large trailer. Very nice and efficient! We are also very satisfied with the cooperation with depot Den Bosch and we can switch quickly with the Depot Manager. We send a lot of parcels, so it's not strange that something goes wrong once in a while, or a parcel gets damaged. GLS always takes our complaints very seriously and resolves them quickly and satisfactorily. We are very satisfied with GLS's decisiveness on any problems we encounter. There is always the intention to come out of it constructively."

De Bruin Techniek Groep is committed to making its processes more sustainable. Niels: "Sustainability is the theme in which every company ultimately has to take responsibility. De Bruin Techniek Groep is a link in the chain, just like our partners such as GLS Netherlands. In the transport sector there is a big challenge in this area. Electric driving is the obvious one, but other solutions can also be devised. I know that GLS is aware of this and is working hard on this. For example, more and more electric delivery vans are already being deployed and there is a continuous effort to make them more sustainable."

Niels is very pleased with the personal contact with GLS. "Nice to see that GLS values maintaining relationships. GLS has a warm atmosphere. You also notice that the people working for GLS want to arrange everything well. We are like that ourselves. I think that is one of the reasons why GLS and De Bruin Techniek Groep fit well together. I believe in partnerships and our connection with GLS is a perfect example for me of how to shape a long-term collaboration well!
